Access Platforms Designed for Council Procurement
Working safely at height is a key priority for councils and local authorities. CPL provides vehicle-mounted access platforms, including cherry pickers and tippers, designed to help your teams complete maintenance, tree work, and other height-based tasks safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations.
Trusted Solutions for Public Sector Procurement
Our platforms are built to support the unique demands of council work. Compact models allow you to navigate narrow streets and busy urban areas, while larger, heavy-duty options can tackle off-road and uneven terrain with ease. All of our equipment is type-approved, fully compliant with HSE regulations.
We understand that councils also need procurement simplicity. Being #1 on the TPPL list for our category vehicles, CPL enables councils and local authorities to directly award contracts, reducing paperwork, shortening procurement timelines, and giving you immediate access to reliable, safe equipment.

“I’ve been working in the industry for a long time, and I’ve never come across an access platform supplier like CPL. Their attention to detail, commitment to service, and their range of access platforms make them really stand out.”
“CPL has been a long and trusted partner of Access Hire. CPL’s senior team ambition, focus on product development/innovation and “can do” attitude has enabled the continuing growth of both businesses into new sectors and markets.”
“We’ve done a lot of testing to show that you don’t have to fit hydraulic legs to our vehicle because it’s stable enough already. That means it can be put to work more quickly when it gets to a site because there is no need to wait while its legs are deployed.”

CPL offers a Green Pack option that allows operators to use the boom without keeping the vehicle engine running, reducing emissions, noise, and fuel consumption on-site. This helps councils and companies meet environmental targets while maintaining full performance and reliability.
For those looking to go fully electric, CPL also provides a Zero Emission (ZE) electric option for our KL26 cutaway, delivering the same trusted capability with completely silent, engine-free operation.
Most of our Van Mounted Platforms are built on Renault Trucks Master vans. We’ve chosen them because they offer a great mix of payload, handling, and reliability – especially for teams working in urban areas or tight spaces.
We’ve also gone a step further: CPL holds European Whole Vehicle Type Approval for all Renault Master conversions. That means the builds meet high safety and quality standards, and we’ve got the full backing of Renault UK. On top of that, every vehicle is covered by 24/7 roadside assistance!
Our van-mounted booms deliver a working outreach between 6.8 and 8.2 metres, depending on the van model. Models without outriggers, like the KL21B, maintain their full outreach and support a basket capacity of up to 120kg, making them ideal for quick setups, lightweight tools, and single-operator use.
For heavier payloads or two-person teams, models with two outriggers (KL38P) can support up to 200kg in the basket. While this setup provides greater stability, it comes with a slight trade-off in outreach due to the stabilising system.
All CPL MEWPs come with a comprehensive support package designed to keep your equipment compliant and operational. Each unit includes LOLER servicing every 6 to 12 months, carried out by trained technicians to ensure safety and legal compliance.
In addition to the standard warranty, CPL offers an extended parts warranty covering years 2 and 3, giving you added peace of mind beyond the first year. Support contracts can also include wear-and-tear repairs, scheduled inspections, and up to two on-site callouts per year across most of mainland UK.
CPL platforms are designed with built-in features to give you peace of mind on the job. You can lock the vehicle while the engine stays running, meaning hydraulic systems or climate control remain powered without leaving the cab exposed.
This is especially useful when working in public areas or moving quickly between jobs, helping ensure your van, tools, and equipment stay secure while you stay focused on the work at hand.
