Klubb acquires CPL
French vehicle mounted lift manufacturer Klubb has acquired its UK dealer, CPL (Cumberland Platforms Ltd).
Kettering based CPL was appointed as the UK dealer for Klubb van mounted platforms at the beginning of 2016. Klubb says that due to the success of the cooperation the two companies have decided to join forces “to accelerate their development and growth within the UK, one of largest van mounted platform markets in Europe.”
Paul and Michela Murphy will remain within the company as directors while also retaining a stake in the business as shareholders. They will continue to manage the business on a day to day basis. CPL also builds special custom designed platforms and distributes the range of light truck mounts and spider lifts from Palfinger Platforms Italy.
Klubb claims to have produced over 1,200 platforms in 2017 and is forecasting 1,400 units a year with the acquisition of CPL with 20 percent organic growth.
Paul Murphy said: “We are very proud to represent the Klubb brand in the UK and now being fully part of the group will enable us to grow much faster in the market. We believe that this new agreement will help expand Klubb’s presence and enable us to offer a high level of quality and support in the region.”
Klubb chief executive Julien Bourrellis added: “I am convinced this combination will create a successful team with a clear focus on developing sales and continuously delivering excellent customer services. This acquisition will reinforce our position in the UK the market and will further strengthen our position as the largest specialist platform manufacturer in Europe.”
