CPL supply new models to Smart Platforms

UK-based truck-mounted access platform company Smart Platform Rental has added the first CPL E-Tech KL26 and KL21B van-mounted platforms in the UK to its fleet.

The E-Tech KL26 is a fully electric van-mounted platform. With a range of 110 miles*, the KL26 is a ULEZ-compliant eco-friendly platform mounted on a 3.5-tonne Renault Master van. The KL26 has a working height of 11.8 metres and a maximum outreach of 6.5 metres. It has no outriggers and can elevate one operative.

Smart Platform Rental has also added to its fleet of diesel van-mounted platforms with six new CPL KL21B’s. The KL21B is mounted on a 3-tonne Renault Trafic van. The KL21B has no outriggers, which both decreases its footprint, making it more effective in narrow spaces, and decreases its weight, giving it a greater payload for tools and equipment. The KL21B has a maximum working height of 11.2 metres, with 6 metres of outreach.

Smart Platforms’ Managing Director Jo Rogers said:

“Smart platforms have always been and will remain committed to continuous improvement in all areas of our business, these two new van mount models are just the latest additions to our self-drive rental fleet, in line with that core principle. We work closely with our customers to provide a variety of access solutions to the everyday challenges they face; we are very excited about what the future holds for these two new product lines.”

The all-electric E-Tech KL26 will initially be based in Smart Platform’s Birmingham depot. The KL21bs will be spread across Smart Platform’s locations in Hemel Hempstead, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Dartford, Bristol, and Southampton.

Paul Murphy, CEO of CPL said: “The KL21b was developed alongside Smart Platforms. They needed to offer a solution that fitted within the customer budget but didn’t sacrificed efficiency. I would like to say thank you to Smart Platforms for their trust. In order to develop the model, they ordered 6 units making it a valuable addition to our range of platforms.”
